Racial Justice Toolkit

Community Education

Youth defenders see the impact of systemic racial injustice on their clients every day. In order to increase youth defenders’ effectiveness in making racial justice arguments and to fully embrace their vital role in working toward a solution, youth defenders need access to history, data, and research that defines the over-policing, over-criminalization, and school exclusion experienced by youth of color. The resources offered in this introductory section illuminate the nature and scope of the over-criminalization of youth of color and provide advocates with materials they need to advance the fight for racial justice advocacy.

Developed in partnership with Georgetown Law's Juvenile Justice Clinic & Initiative, the Racial Justice Toolkit provides resources for youth defenders and advocates who are committed to advancing racial justice in court, in policy advocacy, and in their communities.
